Prudential: Oracle Technical – April edition

Happy New Tax Year! Revised allowances and limits, some dramatically reduced like the Money Purchase Annual Allowance, some increased, the new inflation busting increase to the ISA allowance and some new , like the Main Residence Nil Rate Band.

LISA has arrived, the Tapered Annual Allowance may have a bigger impact as carry forward runs out and the Defined Benefit transfer conversation will continue apace.

So lots of reasons why clients will continue to beat a path to your door.

Help is at hand! You can beat a path to Prudential’s Knowledge Centre and Tools & Calculators, which they’ve updated with everything they think you’ll need to know to get through 2017/18 and beyond.

Their technical helpline has been red hot – just had their busiest tax year end.

Les Cameron takes a look at the MPAA reduction. Moira’s looking at the inflation stats and what this means for public sector pensions.

The tax and trusts wing have been busy, especially Liz. She makes her debut with an article on probate fees and planning and also has the final part of her Q&A trilogy on gifting and IHT.
